Bar & Service Manager

Yooooo! We’re looking for one rad Bar Manager & Service Extraordinaire. This position will not only rock at setting the standards for great service but will also play a vital role in the creation of policies and procedures for day-to-day operations at RADBAR. We are searching for a reliable, innovative, experienced manager to oversee operations and to be our Captain of Good Vibes! This role is an immediate stepping stone to the General Management position, and we hope to promote from within! 

We forecast a small front-of-house staff of 6-10 total. This position will require a direct working relationship with the Kitchen Manager. Back of House and Front of House Management will have daily communications, weekly meetings, and conduct scheduled reports. This position will work as a tipped staff member during service hours at a higher hourly rate, depending on experience and other factors. During administrative hours worked, the Bar/Service Manager will maintain the higher hourly rate. The individual hired for this role will ideally lead themselves into being promoted to the GM position. Benefits, including opportunities for overtime and paid time off, will be discussed with the hired individual.

Bar & Service Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Full-time position.

  • Oversee all front-of-house staff, including but not limited to, servers, bartenders, and security. 

  • Responsible for setting the vibes and maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all staff and patrons.

  • Opening and closing 

  • Financial recording and upkeep

  • Handle paperwork and other administrative duties

  • Handle complaints, conflicts, questions, and suggestions from restaurant employees

  • Appointing, inducting, and mentoring new staff members

  • Create bartender and employee schedules

  • Resolving customers' questions and grievances in a professional manner

  • Conducting payroll activities in an accurate, timely manner

  • Adheres to pertinent health and safety regulations at all times

  • Manage the bar team for success and promote a positive atmosphere

  • Work closely with the kitchen team and front-of-house team, interact with guests, give direction to other staff members, and troubleshoot to resolve problems

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the bar

  • Run an efficient and profitable bar

  • Maintain written recipes and accurate menu information

  • Order, receive, and manage all bar products

  • Conduct an accurate inventory

  • Keep bar sales growing, meet quarterly sales targets, and implement sales promotions at the bar

  • Develop weekly bar specials and seasonal new bar menu items to create customer excitement

  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and fully stocked bar, office space

  • Receive continuous training and guidance from Owners/Management

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Knowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality industries

  • Ability to work independently, as well as lead, manage, and motivate team members in a positive manner

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and stay cool under pressure

  • Analytical skills and a solid understanding of business management practices and strategies

  • Experience working as a bartender, server, or manager in a restaurant environment

  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service

  • Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift; able to carry 25 or more pounds of supplies

Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

  • Active ABLE License

  • Prior experience working in a bar or restaurant.

  • Supervisory experience

  • Familiarity with point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platforms
